Laboratory Technician
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join a leading manufacturing company based in Southampton.

Introduction

The primary role of the LaboratoryTechnicianwill involve using specialist equipment and tofabricate preforms and prepare glass ready for drawing into fibre.

Responsibilities
Fabricating preforms and preparing glass ready for drawing into fibre, this includes:

Operating equipmentand controls
Following product specification instructions.
Completing and maintaining logs, spreadsheets anddatabases as indicated in work instructions.
Reviewing and analysingtest data
Problem solving
Adhering to strict Health & Safety regulations

Ideal Experience
The ideal candidate will be someone whohas good attention for detail and accuracy,process driven, reliable, keen to learn and PC literate. A good understanding of complex equipment and or quality inspection / laboratory experience would be beneficial.
Any fibre optics experience is an advantage, however full training will also be provided.

Shift Pattern:
Week 1 - Days (4-day week 12 hour shifts)
Week 2 - Nights (3-day week 12 hour shifts)

Salary:
33600 which includes the 20% shift uplift.
